Dr. Hummers is an Assistant Professor of Medicine,and Co-Director of the Johns Hopkins Scleroderma
Center. She received her M.D. from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, her Post-doctoral
Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD and completed her Internship and Residency at
Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Hummers is a clinical investigator with a clinical and research interest in scleroderma. Since 2003,
she has worked along side Dr. Fredrick Wigley at Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center. The focus of
her continuing research is the study of biomarkers to predict outcomes in scleroderma, with a particular
focus on the vascular manifestations of scleroderma such as digital ischemia and pulmonary hypertension. |
