About Dr.Santhanam Lakshminarayanan,:
Dr. Lakshminarayanan is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of
Connecticut Health Center, the Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Program and the Program Director of the
New England Musculoskeletal Institute.
Dr. Lakshminarayanan’s areas of expertise are in Lyme disease, Gout and Systemic Rheumatic Disease. He has
published papers on Phospholipid Antibody Syndrome, Raynaud’s phenomenon, and Bone Density with Systemic
Lupus Erythematous. His Specialty is Internal Medicine with Subspecialties in Rheumatology, Rheumatic Disease,
Scleroderma, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Arthritis.
Dr. Lakshminarayanan received his M.B.B.S. at the University of Poona, India. He completed his residency in Internal
Medicine, and Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University Of Connecticut School Of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Internal
Medicine and Rheumatology. His clinical research interests include Scleroderma, Systemic Rheumatic Disease, and Use of P32
Radioactive Synovectomy in Refractory Inflammatory Monoarthritis.clinical scientist award from the NIH, and a TRI award from the department of medicine.
