About Dr. Spiera:
Dr. Robert Spiera obtained his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine, completing his Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship training in Rheumatology from New York Presbyterian Hospital- Cornell Campus.

He is the Director of the Vasculitis and Scleroderma Program at the Hospital for Special Surgery, and a Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Spiera is the principal investigator in several clinical trials and observational studies in scleroderma and has collaborated with basic investigators on translational studies. He has authored over 120 publications relating to scleroderma, vasculitis, and other rheumatic diseases. He is an active clinician who cares for patients with scleroderma as well as other complex rheumatologic illnesses. 

Dr. Spiera currently serves as the Chair of Tri-State Medical Advisory Board as well as on the National Scleroderma Foundation’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Board.
